Everyone loves a funny dance

Today is the major day of Songkran, the Thai new year. It is usually a week long water party where the whole country shuts down and joins in a water fight all day and night long. We are eating now, loading up our water guns and going to hit the streets. pictures and videos to come!

I just love this picture

This last week was a pretty eventful one, having friends come and visit, visiting friends and all kinds of activities! Last night we went to the beach, hung out with some friends and played some American football and had a blast! But Chompoo, who came to visit this week with her husband and baby, just had appendicitis surgery and was in a lot of pain, so we had to leave a little early.

David about to get a TD run

On Thursday, David, Win and I were blessed to be able to go to a Muay Thai gym and have a glorified cardio session. It felt like Tae-bo the way we were kicking and punching over and over and over again. It was a hard work out and left us all feeling the burn, I have not kicked something or someone in probably a decade and the pain in my feet is real!!! It was a lot of fun though and we all enjoyed it. We will probably go more in the future as we try to get more in shape and try to teach the boys more self-control. Raising teenage boys who can’t speak the same language, is really hard. We just had to have the “Birds and the bees” talk and it was rough.

Sunday we had Danny Suede come and visit and teach the kids a little bit about how to make music. He introduced somethings that the kids had never seen before and showed them how to make music with them(I have no idea what they were either). The kids played music and he was able to put it together and make something pretty cool out of it. I really like the song and the meaning behind the words and really like how it all came together, here it is:

When we started this we had no idea how far we this would go! The kids love to listen to it and try to find the parts they played in the song. We found that David really has some hidden music abilities in hidden in his quiet demeanor. Rachel who has been asking for years for a Violin, finally got one! It was gifted by a friend of mine who lives in Hua Hin.

Our prayers:

Pray for our girls who are just hitting puberty and dealing with having periods, Sarah and Sky. Pray for me as well, historically the girls we have, who have trauma, don’t like me that much as they enter womanhood. Mean mugs and cold words and not a lot of fun.

Pray for us as we try to put together IEPs for all of our kids who need them. Its a lot of work and we need to have them done in a few weeks.

Answers to prayers:

Chompoo successfully going through Appendicitis surgery.

Evangeleen gaining weight, she is over 20 kgs. now

All the kids passes their homeschool tests.

What I have been thinking about:

Pineapple origins - Kinda crazy how there are no sources for the first time a pineapple was seen

Pineapples smell funny

What I’m listening to:

Gungor - I am Mountain

What I’m Watching: Makes you wonder what was in the envelopes

Mike Winger has a great pod, if you haven’t listened, I don’t agree with everything he says. I know some people who really like Todd white.

What I’m reading:

Great book that has a lot of information about trauma and strategies on how to deal with it in kids.

Good book

This popped up on my feed today, when Boot drew our whole family. I’m in the middle looking like Alfalfa, from Little Rascals. This was about 5 yrs ago.

Hanging out in a cave. What a hike!
